Language Arts Blog and Blue Spruce

During the next two weeks students reading logs will be used in conjunction with the language arts blog.

All students should be entering 2-4 comments on the blog on each book.

Students can respond to the book in many different ways:
1. Make a connection
2. Respond to another comment
Use these prompts to help you piggy back off someone’s comment
a. I agree with…. because……
b. I disagree…. Because……
c. I would like to add to….
d. I thought your comment was interesting because….
3. Describe your favourite element in the book (genre, characters, setting, plot)
4. Describe the authors message in the story

Photography Assignment
1. Write or Draw 4 potential pictures you would like to take that represents the theme:

1. International Language School Discussion

A notice has been sent home to families to invite you to an information meeting on May 6th at 7:00 pm regarding the International Languages Program. After the meeting a survey will be sent home to families of children in Grades 1 - 5. This is an opportunity for all parents to contribute to discussions to the overall daily program of IL at McMurrich. I hope to see many of you there.

2. Respond on the Blog to the Blue Spruce Books that we read in Class

3. Permission Forms will be handed out Tuesday and will need to be returned by Thursday

4. Business Day T-shirt
