Wow, it has been an amazing month preparing for this big event at RTH. I would like to congratulate the students in Room 206 for making McMurrich proud and singing in the Freedom Choir. Congratulations!A big thank you to all the parents for volunteering on Sunday and Monday without your help this day would have not been possible.
10 x 10 Campaign:

4 Steps:

1. Make 10 achieveable goals that you can accomplish this year. All commitment cards are due back in class by Friday January 29, 2010. Also register your 10 commitments at www.giveyour10.com and an additional $ 10 will be donated on your behalf.

2. Donate $10 and attach to letter that was sent home or go online to
www.freethechildren.com/tdsb

3. Complete 10 community hours

4. Tell 10 people

Discuss with someone at home the following:

We have read two books "Ordinary Mary's Extraordinary Deed" and 10 Things I can do to help my world"

How are these books similar and different from each other?
How are they related to the 10 x 10 Campaign?

We will be starting our new Social Studies Unit on Celebrations. Each student needs to complete a family history sheet for tomorrow. They have been provided with a template where they are to draw the flag(s) of where their ancestors are from and fill out some question about the celebrations/holidays that you celebrate during the year.
